Let Down

So there I was, secreted in my model of an ancient aeroplane, suspended from the ceiling of the Musée National des Arts et Metiers, in Paris, at the stroke of midnight on Saturday the 13th. And nothing happened.

When I got home, I discovered that the Vatican is releasing a special edition of a papal finding of innocence of heresy, which came a little late, if you ask me.

Hi.

I don't even know why I'm doing this, because I know writers are particularly reticent folks..but I'm desperate and got nothing to lose. Besides writers are curious folks too, so this just might interest you, something to do when at a verbal dead-end perhaps...

So I'm hogging this comment space to make an unusual request...
I’m a Ph.D. student at Glasgow University trying to understand the differnt routes that people across cultures (India and the U.K.) take to become the people they are today-I'm slicing up that pie into 'work, love and play' realms. So I’m here to interview British/Scottish men and women between the ages of 25 and 35 from different walks of life. A writer would be so good-you are so theoretically relevant!

If you've read this far, the interview would be a couple of hours long- we can break this up into a couple of sessions. And there are also some written exercises.

But why would you want to do this? Well for one, you will be part of an important study that aspires to find application in policies that affect the billions in India :) Two, you get to talk about yourself for two whole hours while somebody is really paying attention. Three, when you come visiting India, you can stay in my home in Mumbai (if you dont have money) and you will be taken around. And four, I’ll buy you coffee and snacks (or beer) over the session (s).

I need about 10-12 people and each is therefore very crucial for the study. We could arrange a place that is convenient to YOU and I’ll produce my university id and passport if you want to see it (!!).

So, if you find this interesting, please mail me at mamthakarollil[at]gmail[.]com.

Eagerly,
Mamtha.

p.s. I love literature, have secretly nurtured writing ambitions myself (who doesn't?)
